John Cena vs. Rusev
Winner: John Cena
As much as I believe Rusev should win this match, and assert himself as a dominant heel, I can't see John Cena losing at Wrestlemania 31. Cena is the last chance the United States has to put an end to Rusev's undefeated streak, and it will be a good way to elevate the United States Championship. It is a shame however, that it will come at the expense of one of the most promising young stars on the roster.
On the other hand, John Cena is a 15 time world champion and is a guaranteed WWE hall of famer. Having Rusev's undefeated streak come to an end at the hands of Cena is not the worst thing. It will take some time, but Rusev will recover this loss and continue to develop into a top heel.
Intercontinental Ladder Match
Winner: Daniel Bryan
First things first, the level of talent in this match is incredible. However, it is a three man race for the Championship between Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler and Dean Ambrose, and I would not be surprised if man won. Saying that, I do expect Daniel Bryan to pull down the title at Wrestlemania 31.
Much like the United States Champion, having an established Superstar claim the Intercontinental Championship will make the title relevant again. And as much as fans would love to see Bryan be the WWE World Heavyweight champion once again, myself included, this is not going to happen. Considering his two clean losses to Dolph Ziggler in the past week, Bryan could be out of the main event picture for a few months.
The Intercontinental Championship has been the stepping stone for some of the biggest names in the history of professional wrestling, including 2015 WWE Hall of Fame inductee 'Macho Man' Randy Savage, Shawn Michaels and Stone Cold Steve Austin. With Bryan as Intercontinental Champion, the title will be going back to its prestigious roots and it will once again become a launch pad to the main event.
On a side note, as good as this match will be, and it could very well be the best match of the night, it is disappointing guys like Ziggler, Bryan and Ambrose are not in more meaningful matches, as opposed to being thrown into a multi-man ladder match. Hopefully at Wrestlemania 32, this will be the case.
