7/10
Before watching this movie, a lot of people had been telling me that it wasn't as good as they had hoped for. So I went into this movie with relatively low expectations, and I was pleasantly surprised.
Seth Rogen and James Franco have teamed up again and produced, in my opinion, a hilarious movie. For those of you who don't know what this movie is about, I am actually impressed. To summarise, after the tabloid TV show Skylark Tonight manages to secure an interview with Kim Jong-un (Randall Park), host Dave Skylark (James Franco) and producer Aaron Rapoport (Seth Rogen) are then set the task of assassinating the North Korean leader. Any movie with a such an outrageous plot, such as this, cannot be taken too seriously. People who have said this is a stupid movie need to get off their high horse and take it for what it is.
I loved Franco's over the top portrayal of Dave Skylark, and was one of my favourite things about the movie. His interactions with Kim Jong-un were fantastic, and the pair delivered some of the most memorable moments of the film. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a movie that's easy to watch and not too serious.
